Denis Yashin - Covers (Inner Frequency)
Sound as a Visual System
This work was not painted in the traditional sense.
During the painting process, speakers transmit sound waves directly onto the surface. Frequencies and rhythms move the paint and create structures that cannot be drawn by hand.
Each work emerges from a real acoustic process and develops its form in an unpredictable way.

About the Series
The series Covers explores CD and cassette covers as visual translations of sound.
Album artwork often conveys a certain atmosphere, aesthetic, or idea of music even before the first note is heard. The works build on this idea and transform it into abstract, sound-driven image objects.
The visible structures emerge through real acoustic processes and are combined with vivid backgrounds and individually designed 3D-printed frames conceived as integral parts of the artwork.
The resulting works do not illustrate sound, but make it physically and visually perceptible.
